I love receiving mail. Normal old school snail mail is the best, but I am flexible and love also e-mails, text messages or even Facebook messages. I'm kind of missing mail pigeons....

Postcrossingu. Už ste o tom niekedy počuli? Podľa mňa je to geniálne. Stačí sa zaregistrovať na ich domovskej stránke a vyžiadať pár adries, ktoré systém nahodne vyberie a poslať na ne pohľadnicu. Pre každú adresu dostanete aj špecifické čislo (ID), ktoré napíšete na kartu, odošlete a (netrpezlivo) čakáte, kým príjemca na domovskej stránke pohľadnicu zaregistruje práve podľa ID. V tomto okamihu sa vaša adresa dostáva do "osudia" a v priebehu nasledujúcich dní dostanete pohľadnicu vy. Od náhodne vybraného Postcrosser-a z ľubovoľnej časti sveta. Úžasný nápad.
You can't imagine my excitement when a friend of mine told me few years ago about
Postcrossing. Have you ever heard about that? I think it's brilliant. You register on the webpage, ask the computer to randomly choose few addresses for you, it will generate also a unique ID, you write postcards, write the ID on each one, send them and wait. When your postcard is received, the receiver registers it on the webpage using the ID and at that point, your address is becoming available and you are going to receive a postcard from someone all over the world. It's just brilliant.

Rando! Jedná sa o mobilnú aplikáciu (spočiatku dostupnú pre iOS teraz aj Android platformu), ktorá funguje na veľmi podobnom princípe ako Postcrossing. Hlavný rozdiel je, že miesto pohľadníc posielate fotky. Treba sa zaregistrovať a potom už len niečo pekné odfotiť, poslať a v priebehu pár minút dostanete obrázok z druhého konca sveta. Jendoduché, či?

Rando!!! It's a mobile application (available for iOS and Android) which works almost like Postcrossing, but instead of postcards, you send a picture. You register, take a picture, send it and wait, within few minutes you receive a picture from other end of the world. Simple, heh?
