Important Facts vol.1

Veľmi dôležitý fakt číslo 1 :

V sobotu som našla kaderníctvo, kde si môžete čakanie spíjemniť čítaním Biblie. A to sa zíde.

Very important fact number 1 :

On Saturday, I found a hairdresser's where you can read Bible while waiting. And that's very handy.

Lunch in Paris

**  A love story with recipes by Elizabeth Bard

Chválitebné a zrejme to ani nebolo príliš ťažké, názov má v sebe "Paríž", "recepty" a "romantický príbeh".

I got this book from Gangsta saying that they have a recycling system at work and he thought about me when he had seen this one. I guess it wasn't very difficult - Paris, recipes and love story seems like a good combination.

I haven't finished yet, I'm not even in the middle, but I must say that I like it. Not love, it's not a book that I have to read through in two hours, but there is something about it. The author is American, living for some time in London and then in Paris, she describes these places from the point of view of a foreigner which I was/ still am. It reminds me of my first days in Paris, discovering the markets, culture, people, food....

The book is full of recipes which make me hungry whenever I read it (that's probably the reason why after 20 minutes I have to close the book and have a snack).

But, what I wanted to share and what made me laugh is :

"Truth to be told, a woman could starve to death in London. Not just the food - tea and toast are fine for a hangover - but the men. Foppish and charming as they can be, Englishmen have a unique way of making a woman feel invisible. They either look right through you, or lunge at you in a drunken stupor. The only warmth comes from those pitiful gas fireplaces (and a couple of pints). I'd studied in Britain before, so I should have been prepared, but time and distance had put a cozy glow on the gray skies, gray meat, graying men. I'd been back in London for only three months, but I was already starting to feel a little grayish myself."

Nemôžem inak len súhlasiť. (neprekladám, zbytočne by som to pokazila)

Cannot agree more.
