Home sweet home vol.1

Finally. Finally. Finally. After 6 student years in Pague and one year in Paris, my dream finally came true. My own flat. Or, not really mine, just rented and not only mine, but that doesn't count, all the negativism is supressed.

Na nič iné nemyslím, len čo nám ešte treba. A teším sa. Aktívne.

I don't think about anything else, only about what we currently need to buy. And I'm happy. Actively.

Takže len v rýchlosti.

So just quickly.

Ja viem, ja viem, všade samé bodky, blah blah.... ale nie je to roztomilé?

I know, I know, too much polka dots, blah blah....but isn't it cute?

And I don't care that we don't have internet, or furniture, or that we sleep on an inflatable mattress. We are AT HOME!!!

Union Jack vol.1

Vlajka Spojeného kráľovstva Veľkej Británie  a Severného Írska sa volá Union Jack. Jej súčastný vzhľad pochádza z roku 1801.

The flag of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is called Union Jack. It's current design dates back to 1801.

Interesting fact: the flag should be called Union Flag, Jack signifies a flag on a ship, so Union Jack should be used only while talking about the ship flag, but because of the great importance of the marine for the whole country, the name Union Jack is widely in use in common language.

Vlajka bola prvotne zložením zástav Škótska (kríž sv. Ondreja) a Anglicka (kríž sv. Juraja) a v roku 1801 pribudla zástava Írska (kríž sv. Patrika).

Firstly, the flag combined the flag of Scotland (st. Andrew's cross) and England (st. Goerge's cross) and from the year 1801 also the flag of Ireland (st. Patrick's cross ).

Im as smart as Wikipedia, right? My aim is to point out where you can meet this flag. Well, everywhere. The French are thought to be nationalists, but comparing to the the English...

Oblečenie ma už neprekvapuje, ani spodná bielizeň, nuda.

I'm not surprised anymore by clothes, shoes, not even underwear, boring.

My first English rainy day, I met in the street something like this

Oke, to ma už tiež necháva chladnou. Čo ma prekvapilo je : nechty a odpadkový kôš??????

Ok, normal, cool, I'm not excited. But what took my breath away : fake nails and rubbish bin??????

Pokračovanie určite nabudúce.

To be continued, for sure.

My first Mother's day

Today is Mother's day in the UK. I think that anywhere else it is on the second Sunday of May, but not here.

During the mass in the church I usually go, the priest gathered all the children and gave them several daffodils to each kid to give them to their mummy. I must have looked very miserable because a little boy came to me and gave me some of his flowers. I tried to explain that I wasn't mum yet, but he just smiled and walked away. So sweet, I almost had tears in my eyes. Then a gentleman sitting next to me leaned and told me "Congratulations!"

Môj prvý Deň matiek, i keď od matky mám ešte veľmi ďaleko. Dúfam.

My first Mother's day, far from being mother though. I hope.

Správna žena

Mamina mi vždy vravievala, že správna žena nosí v kabelke vreckovky, rúž, dáždnik, náhradné silónky, modlitebnú knižku, igelitku na nákup, kľúče a peňaženku.

My mum used to tell me, that every good woman has in her purse some tissues, lipstick, umbrella, spare tights, prayer book, bag for grocery shopping, keys and wallet.

In the train on my way to London I started to think if I am a good woman. I always have some+ tissues with me, I don't use lipsticks, but I could find at least one lip balm, I have learnt that umbrella is inevitable here, I don't have spare tights, but I almost never wear it, don't like, prayer book....nope, but I always have something to read with me, either a paper book or electronic version (the last few weeks I got hooked up on manga), bag for grocery shopping checked, although it's not a plastic one (I don't want to make Earth to cry), keys and wallet are must have. Not bad. Time's changing so except for all this I have also my phone and antibacterial hand cleansing gel, I can't leave home without a bottle of water and something to eat. But as I was looking into my bag ....

But the computer is fitting inside so well ! Am I a good woman?
